I purchased four months ago a ProForm J8li. I read somewhere that it is supposed to be one of the top three treadmills that sells for under $1,200. Its maximum speed is 10MPH and its maximum incline is 10 degrees. Besides the many pre-programs, it has two that you can program for up to forty minutes. It reaches maximum speed very quickly (similar to many of the more expensive models), it has a wide running platform, it is fairly quiet, and the display is easy to read. It also includes a shelf to read a book or magazine, a compartment for a water bottle, and a compartment for miscellaneous items. I purchased mine for $900 at Sears.
