You should have plenty of time to train for the marathon in October.
The key to doing a marathon well is the long run. Your training should focus on gradually increasing the long run distance until it is near around 20 miles. You should do a long run every 2 weeks and do your last one no closer than 3 weeks before the event.
RunCoach can produce a more individualised schedule and divide the program into 4 phases. You should download a copy and let RunCoach design a specific program. The key bits of information to tell it is your current mileage, long run distance and a couple of recent fast performances or PB's.
