Resumption of training after a cold

Hallo Paul,

I have been training for two months now based on a plan for a 10k run by end of January. About 10 days ago I caught a heavy cold. Since then I am in a rest period that will probably last a few more days. Before the cold I had just reached the maximum weekly distance of 73k in the training plan. The question is, what is the best way of resuming the training ? Should I continue with the original plan by shifting everything forward by e.g. two weeks (to postpone the race date is no problem for me) ? That would mean to resume the training with 73k per week. Or should I create a completely new plan somehow (e.g. resuming with a lower weekly distance) ?
