Hi,
I've been a casual runner for about 10 years (two 4milers a week). Then I got a standard Polar Hart Rate Monitor for Xmas and that got me started.
Found this software (really good stuff!) and developed a plan to get me to Marathon in 30 weeks. Here is my Problem: RunCoach gives me infos about the pace for my runs (threshold, easy, long run, etc.) but I'm not running on a track (therefore no distance markers). I had to input some very old PBs (5000 & 10000) to give the software something to plan with (very old so I've added a couple of minutes to them). Isn't there a way to convert pace into percentage of maximum hart rate?? Like 72% for the long run, 85% for the threshold, etc??? And, what are the guidelines to test your maximum hart rate? At the moment I'm working with 190bpm (30years old, 6'3'', 88kg).
Any suggestions from a more knowledgeable fellow runner??
Cheers, B.
